Dr. Ankur Kakkar

Bio

Dr. Ankur Kakkar is Assistant Professor at the Centre for Indic Studies, Indus University since January 2018. Ankur is a research scholar and student of Indian history, culture and philosophy. Ankur has completed his doctorate in History from the South Asia Institute, University of Heidelberg, Germany. His doctoral thesis titled “The Dayanand Anglo-Vedic school of Lahore: A Study of Education Reform in Colonial Punjab (1880-1920)” was supervised by Gita Dharampal, daughter of eminent historian Shri Dharampal. Before starting his PhD, Ankur obtained a postgraduate degree in History from the School of History, Classics and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
