The Centre for Indic Studies, Indus University, hereby invites applications for full-time faculty positions from bright and highly motivated candidates with necessary qualifications and sound aptitude for high-quality research in Indian Knowledge System.
The Centre for Indic Studies seeks to advance knowledge and
understanding of the diverse and rich traditions of the Indian Knowledge
Systems (IKS), encompassing fields such as philosophy, linguistics, culture,
history, ancient sciences, and various other facets of Indic wisdom. The centre
is looking for dynamic, passionate, and committed individuals to contribute to
its academic and research initiatives. Here are the details:

Assistant Professor |
The Assistant Professor will be expected to teach
undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to the Indian Knowledge
Systems, contribute to curriculum development, and guide research initiatives
within the Centre. Candidates should have a strong academic background with a
focus on one or more of the following areas: Sanskrit language and
literature, Indian philosophy and spiritual traditions, Indic history and culture,
Indian art and aesthetics, Vedic wisdom and other ancient sciences. |
Scholars, teachers, subject experts and
practitioners with Master’s Degree and minimum of 55% or equivalent in the discipline
of Literature, Sanskrit, Philosophy, History, Political Science, Social
Science, and Economics are encouraged. Applicants from other disciplines pertaining
to Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) are also eligible for the post.
We prefer Ph.D. degree holders and registered Ph.D.
candidates (with due permission from their affiliating institutes).

Research Associate |
The Research
Associate will work closely with the faculty members and scholars on research
projects related to the Indian Knowledge Systems. The role involves
conducting literature reviews, assisting in research publications, and
contributing to interdisciplinary studies that advance the understanding of
IKS. Scholars with expertise in Sanskrit texts, Vedic literature, or other
relevant areas are highly encouraged to apply. |
Young postgraduates with a minimum of 55% or
equivalent in the discipline of Literature, Sanskrit, Philosophy, History,
Political Science, Social Science, and Economics are encouraged. Applicants
from other disciplines pertaining to Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) are also
eligible for the post.
The candidates must possess the M.A. degree before
the last date of application. Strong research and writing skills, with an
ability to contribute to academic papers and publications are expected. Knowledge of Sanskrit or other classical Indian languages
is an added advantage. A deep interest in preserving and promoting Indian
Knowledge Systems will be sought.

Academic Manager |
The Academic
Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of
academic activities within the Centre. This includes managing course
offerings, coordinating events and conferences, liaising with faculty,
students, and external stakeholders, and ensuring smooth day-to-day academic
operations. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational and
administrative skills and a keen interest in the growth of academic programs
related to Indic Studies. |
A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (preference
for those with background in Education, Management, or Indic Studies). We
expect:
(a) Proven experience
in academic administration or related roles.
(b)
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication
skills.
(c)
Ability to work in a collaborative,
multi-disciplinary environment. |

The Centre for Indic Studies particularly encourages applications from
