About this Course
Very few are aware of the basic structure of the Vedas. Vedas are the roots of the vast Indian Knowledge System. It is very important to understand the important aspects it deals with; starting from the Vedic deities to the sublime rituals it describes. They serve as a foundation for all the cultural and spiritual practices we follow.
The course is intended to provide undergraduates with a foundational guide to ancient wisdom through Introduction to the Vedic literature. Vedic literature is a vast corpus of hymns, philosophy, rituals, sacrifices, and spiritual practices of various primordial deities of Indian tradition. Despite being the foundation of Indian culture, the various aspects of Vedic literature are still not very well known.
